We went apple picking today and came home with 20 lbs. of fresh Macintosh apples. Bakes apples is an easy recipe, best enjoyed warm, fresh from the oven.

Servings: 4

Fresh
4 fresh apples
1 Tbsp. saltedĀ butter, divided

Pantry
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/4 cup golden raisins
3/4 cup boiling water

Prepare apples
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees-F. Core the apples using a paring knife to cut around core. Use a spoon to remove seeds and core.

Prepare filling
Combine the sugar, cinnamon, and raisins in a small bowl.

Stuff apples
Use a small spoon to fill each apple with one-quarter of the sugar filling. Top each apple with 1/4 Tbsp. of butter.

Bake apples
Place the apples in a small baking dish, like a square glass casserole dish. Pour the boiling water into the dish. Carefully place the dish in the oven and bake for 30 to 40 minutes. Check on the apples occasionally while baking and baste with the juices in the pan using a spoon.

Serve
Remove apples from baking dish and allow to cool 10 minutes before serving. Serve alone or with ice cream.
