Broiled Scallops

Broiled Scallops is an easy weeknight meal. With the frequency I’m using Clarified Butter [1] these days, I make it in bulk and keep it in the refrigerator. These didn’t get the nice brown sear that I like to see on scallops, so I tried a second attempt of Pan-Fried Scallops [2].

Fresh
1 lb. sea scallops
2 Tbsp. Clarified Butter [1]
Prepare scallops
Preheat broiler on high. Rinse scallops to remove any sand and dry with papertowels. Place scallops in a large oven-proof skillet. In a separate small pan, melt Clarified Butter. Pour melted butter over theĀ scallops.
Broil scallops
Place skillet in the broiler a few inches from the heat. Broil for 4 to 5 minutes or until scallops begin to brown. Remove skillet and flip scallops over. Return to broiler and continue broiling an additional 3 to 4 minutes or until browned.
Serve
Remove skillet from oven and serve scallops immediately, discard any liquid or butter collected in the pan.
